CAD

Beginning CAD: This is an introductory course in Drafting. Students learn the fundamentals of reading and producing technical drawing using a variety of methods. Students begin by learning the vocabulary and methods of presenting design information through drawings, first by using manual drafting techniques, then computer aided drafting techniques. Students experience computer machining on CNC milling machines as well as exposed to 3D solid modeling and witness the use of a 3D printing machine.

CAD/CAM/CNC: Students pursue basic skill competencies such as generating CAD drawings, writing Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) programs, developing basic machine shop skills, understadning machining techniques and material properties, and using the Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software. By participating in this class, students will have  abetter understanding of manufacturing processes and increase awareness of career choices in this and related fields. Goals of this program are to prepare students for further vocational and academic training upon graduation from high school.
