Food and Nutrition
Beginning Foods:
Through class work and cooperative lab experiences, students will develop life skills by implementing proper saftey and sanitation techniques, developing basic cooking skills, and perparing a variety of foods. Students will learn the value of creating healthy meal plans within a budget and time constraints. Students will also build on proper knowledge of nutrition principles as they learn more about the impact of food choices.

Advanced Foods:
Students will review basic concepts learned in Beginning foods and expand knowledge in food producation and services, proper safety and sanitation, equipment selection and maintenence, menu and recipe planning, and food service management functions.
